Danny's first years were spent in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, where he was exposed to beatniks and hippies, free jazz and rock and roll, anti-war and civil rights movements, and the summer of love, flower power and psychedelia.

Danny's first musical influence came from his mother Louise, who besides being a painter, was also a folk singer and a guitar player with moderate success. She exposed him to jazz music at the age of 5, and picked up the cello at age 13. Danny soon followed with the electric guitar. His first Rock band was called Renegade and he also collaborated with Eedie Small and Menu. He eventually performed at places like CBGB's with The Blue Planet Ramblers.

Danny also attended the City of University of New York in Harlem and majored in Art. While attending, he studied jazz history from the prolific composer John Lewis, a founding member of the groundbreaking Modern Jazz Quartet, and was greately influenced by him.

He has also traveled around the world and spent a year in Mexico, where he learned some corridos and other traditional Mexican folk songs. After settling in Tucson, Arizona, he formed for brief periods of time bands such as Los Brujos, and Rare Fungus, which was also a dance oriented lineup.

Danny has worked as a Park Ranger in the outdoors around the southwest, and as an instructor offering wilderness therapy programs for troubled teenagers in the high desert of Utah. His teachings include native skills, with music sessions utilizing found natural objects and didgeridoos made from ABS plastic.

Danny studied the didgeridoo from renowned Allan Sparrow Hawk Schockley, and soon explored other native instruments such as clap sticks, bull roarer, and Native American flute. He later collaborated with James Marshall (who co-founded a groundbreaking free jazz group he named the Human Arts Ensemble). Marshall was featured on all 3 of his CDs to date.

Danny owns a recording studio and has mostly taught himself music production. His albums are: Global Warning (2004), Rattlesnake Dreaming, and Indigenous Blues, he is working on his fourth album. Danny continues to perform an occasional gig, and his work can be heard as soundtracks to some videos on Earthtribe TV and has been aired on KXCI Community Radio 91.3 FM, Tucson.

Danny's music is intent on bringing people together in song, dance, and playing instruments. He chooses a spiritual approach utilizing ancient musical traditons of the past and combining them with the technology of the present. He is the Owner/Director of Controlled Folly Productions, an umbrella organization which features his music, writing and graphic art, as well as that of other like-minded artists.

Daniel has tutored University of Arizona S.A.L.T. Program students with learning disabilities in music, art, nutrition, history, sociology, earth sciences, Native studies, anthrolopogy, and Spanish courses. He has also published numerous articles in periodicals, and self-published a book entitled The Medicine of the Wilderness/A Field Guide to Native Skills.
